Harry Cobden’s Planet Sport Bet: Hoping Ginny’s Destiny can get Sunday off to a Flyer

The November Meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse
Jockey Harry Cobden looks ahead to a busy card at Cheltenham on Sunday, picking out a host of tasty selections.
Cheltenham, Sunday
Ginny’s Destiny (1.45pm) ran really well first time out over fences at Cheltenham and he probably just needed it a little bit. He got quite tired off the back of the second last and I looked after him a little bit, so I’d expect him to improve massively for the outing. He’s got a nice mark and I think it’s a winnable race. I think he’s one of my better chances on Sunday.
I then ride Flash Collonges (2.20pm). He was going pretty well in the Scottish National last time before falling and off an unchanged mark he should have a chance here. It looks like we’re going to get a fair amount of rain over the weekend which wouldn’t be ideal, but he’s in good form at home and if there isn’t too much wet weather, I could see him running a nice race.
Paul [Nicholls] has two smart ones in the Greatwood Hurdle (3.30pm). I ride Afadil who we’d expect to improve plenty for his first run. He’s going nicely at home and he probably ran a bit better than his finishing position suggested at Cheltenham last time as he was always a bit behind and never quite got into the race. He’s by Camelot so should go in the ground and his mark looks workable, so he should have an each-way chance.
I just picked him over Sonigino as he’s got quite a lot of weight to carry, but I wouldn’t put anyone off him as I thought he ran a blinder under a big weight in the Silver Trophy last time.
My final ride on Sunday at Cheltenham is Fire Flyer (4.00pm). He seems in really good form and he went well during the week when I schooled him, so I’m looking forward to riding him. The race he won at Ascot has produced plenty of winners and the runner-up is now rated 129 so he’s clearly got a degree of ability. The run at Newbury is best forgotten as the ground was plenty quick enough that day and he should have a decent chance here.
Paul also runs Rickety Bridge who wouldn’t be without a chance either. I thought he was a little unlucky to get beaten on debut at Worcester and I know for a fact he’ll handle soft ground at Cheltenham as it was pretty soft at Worcester.
It was a pretty tough choice between the two and Paul just thought Fire Flyer was the better choice.
