Gowran Park best bet (1725): Bridge Of Dawn primed to bounce back after quick turnaround

Horse racing
If the bookies’ have read things correctly, then the last race at Gowran is arguably the most competitive on the card, with barely more than three betting points separating the seven market leaders.
17:25 Gowran Park: Racing Club membership Handicap (1 mile 75 yards)
Gavin Cromwell’s Rioja Alto is the tentative favourite at the time of writing, but that could easily change by the off, with Sir Allen, Big Island and No Hassle all capable of receiving more support as the race approaches.
Of those, No Hassle seems to be bringing the best summer form to the start having backed up two close-up runner-up spots with back-to-back wins in July, before returning to action three weeks ago at Down Royal, where he finished a respectable fourth of 12.

Of the outsiders, Queen Of Seduction looks capable of outrunning her double-digit price, but most attention from our friends at Tipstrr appears to be aimed at the Jim Bolger-trained Bridge Of Dawn, who has been winless in five attempts since landing a 10-furlong handicap in similar conditions at Navan this time last year.
The fact that he is being turned around quickly from his last outing at Naas on Sunday can be taken two ways, of course, but if he is deemed to have recovered sufficiently from that run, then he certainly won’t be short of race fitness.
He finished eight lengths off the winner that day, but may have been eased down once the outcome was inevitable, and nonetheless finished with seven of his 10 rivals strung out behind him.
Rory Cleary takes the reins for this one, and the same jockey-trainer combination landed a runner-up spot and a 7/1 winner here on Monday, so the stable is evidently producing in-form horses.
Suggested bet: Bridge Of Dawn each-way in the 17:25 at Gowran Park
