Goodwood racing tip: Haymaker to deliver the knockout blow

There's more top quality Flat racing at Goodwood on Sunday and the Tipstrr camp like the look of the final race of the day.

17:40 Goodwood: Racehorse Shares From £45 At racingclub.com Handicap (6 furlongs)

The early favourite in the betting for this dash to the finish is Eminency, with Stuart Williams' charge taking a big jump down for this outing.

The grey gelding struggled last time out in a Class 2, finishing sixth of 13 at Epsom so the jump back down to Class 4 could give him a boost.

His last win came all the way back in 2022 at Windsor, but he did find the frame at a higher level during runs at Newmarket and the aformentioned Windsor last season.

In terms of the form book, the one to watch is Change Sings, who is looking to make it three wins in a row.

His last outing was an all-weather success at Kempton and prior to that he had a comfortable win on the Turf at Newmarket

He's definitely one to watch but we think there's better value to be had elsewhere.

In terms of each-way prospects, Temple Bruer looks worth a punt, with the dependable Oisin Murphy in the saddle.

The six-year-old was disappointing at Ascot last time out, but landed at Chelmsford two starts ago.

With odds of 11/1 and a recent visit to the winner's enclosure, he's definitely worth an each-way punt.

However our selection is Hughie Morrison's Haymaker, who has started the season brilliantly.

A second at Brighton when fresh was immediately followed up by a trip to the winner's enclosure at Nottingham over five furlongs.

He is also a winner at Windsor and Newmarket, with the former coming in a Class 3 so he has form at a higher level too.

He's now at a career best rating of 94 and there's plenty of talent there and he could build on a good few days for Morrison's yard, with the trainer having top three finishes with six out of his last eight runners.

Rob Hornby is in the saddle and is a solid booking, with the jockey achieving a 10 percent strike rate in all races this year and has visited the winner's enclosure on four occasions this week.

We think that Haymaker will deliver the knockout blow and extend the good form of Morrison's yard.

Suggested best bet: Haymaker in the 17:40 at Goodwood
