Friday ITV racing tips: Best bets for Doncaster St Leger Festival on day two

The Planet Sport tipsters are back at Doncaster for day two of the St Leger Festival and have another bunch of hot selections that could help you fill your wallet on September 15.

The ITV cameras will be showing four races on Friday, including two Group 2s - Flying Childers Stakes (1425) and the Doncaster Cup Stakes (1500).

We will start off with a quick run through our tips, with the reasons why we've picked them further down the page.

We've also picked selections for the four races that ITV aren't covering, because that's the kind of tipsters we are.

If you fancy a punt or two, check out the Planet Sport race centre which will show you all the live odds, racecards and results.

Doncaster specials in all races: Bet minimum £20+ cash on any runner to earn a £5 free bet, or a £20 free bet for every £100+ cash, if the favourite wins the race (click to see qualifying terms and t&cs)

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

(Please be aware selections could become non-runners after article's first publication)

Friday's Doncaster selections:

(ITV races in bold)

13:15 (Doncaster) Circe

13:50 (Doncaster) War Rooms

14:25 (Doncaster) Big Evs

15:00 (Doncaster) Trueshan

15:35 (Doncaster) Real Dream

16:10 (Doncaster) There's The Door

16:45 (Doncaster) Tactical

17:20 (Doncaster) Succession.

13:15 (Doncaster) Circe

In a decent contest Circe finished third in on debut at Sandown towards the beginning of the month.

The Richard Hannon trained filly shaped as though she would improve for the outing that day and could know more this time around.

Newcomers Stifling and Lasting Love both command respect for notable connections.

Marie Ellen made a promising start when runner-up debuting on soft ground at Leicester and cannot be ignored.

13:50 (Doncaster) War Rooms

War Rooms is really interesting in the Betfred Flying Scotsman Stakes.

The Churchill colt powered home once the penny dropped to win here in a soft-ground maiden in July and is really well thought of by trainer Owen Burrows, who is enjoying an excellent season in terms of high-profile winners.

He holds the right sort of entries in the autumn and this Listed event – won by a certain Frankel back in the day – strikes as the perfect stepping stone to a run in something like the Dewhurst.

14:25 (Doncaster) Big Evs

Big Evs promises to be a big player in the Carlsberg Danish Pilsner Flying Childers Stakes.

Second first time up, he produced a 20/1 surprise to win the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot and showed there was no fluke about that in following up in the Molecomb at Glorious Goodwood.

Connections rolled the dice in supplementing him for the Nunthorpe against his elders, but unfortunately he failed to give his running on the Knavesmire and it is probably best to put a line through it.

He is clearly a lot better than that and back against his own age group, he should be seen in a much better light. Another plus is he seems versatile with regards to underfoot conditions, as it was a lot softer at Goodwood than at the Royal meeting.

15:00 (Doncaster) Trueshan

Trueshan can make the most of favourable conditions for once to take the Betfred Doncaster Cup.

Historically plagued by ground too fast for his liking and missing countless big-race engagements because of it, it is to the credit of Alan King and his team that he has such a fantastic record.

This year has not been his so far, in fact he has only been seen twice and has undergone wind surgery since his below-par Sagaro Stakes effort at Ascot in May.

Coltrane will be the one for him to beat, and is a former nemesis, not least in this race 12 months ago, but in contrast to Trueshan he has been busy in the championship staying events at Royal Ascot, Goodwood and York, so the selection is fancied to make race-freshness pay for a popular success.

15:35 (Doncaster) Real Dream

Real Dream is given another chance in the Mallard Handicap after disappointing when well fancied for the Ebor.

A Sir Michael Stoute four-year-old with few miles on the clock, he had been on an upward curve prior to York.

Cherry can pick off a good prize in the shape of the British EBF Ruby Anniversary Premier Fillies’ Handicap.

After knocking on the door more than once, she was an easy winner at Goodwood and now she has got her head in front, there should be more to come on her handicap bow.

She is another who goes well with cut in the ground.

16:10 (Doncaster) There's The Door

A tricky contest where none of the six can be ruled out.

On testing ground There's The Door scored at Goodwood and with previous course form may step back in trip and defy a 4lbs rise in ratings.

Cherry won a maiden at Goodwood last time. Could have plenty more to give now handicapping under Ryan Moore.

First-time cheekpieces and a drop back in trip will likely see Mistressofillusion in a better light.

The progressive Queen Emma scored at Goodwood recently and can make a bold bid seeking a hat-trick.

Reina Del Mar is also worth noting despite conceding weight all round.

16:45 (Doncaster) Tactical

Tactical caught the eye at the Ebor meeting and gets the vote in the Doncaster Groundworks Reinforcements Handicap.

Baradar looks to have every chance of following up his recent Ascot success.

Trained by George Boughey this consistent previous course and distance-winning five-year-old will relish forecast conditions and defy a 4lbs higher mark with cheekpieces worn that day retained.

Persuasion would have scored at Haydock (7f) last time but for a cleaner passage through and looms the chief threat securing Ryan Moore off the same mark

17:20 (Doncaster) Succession

Succession delivered a maiden success at Bath three starts ago and produced a fine effort in defeat when runner-up on handicap debut at Wolverhampton recently.

That was his first outing over the 6f trip and with further progress possible revisiting turf a bold bid is anticipated off the same mark.

Blue Prince stayed on well for pressure between beaten rivals when sixth over 6f at York last time and cannot be ignored in what looks an easier assignment.
