Exeter best bet (1530): Paricolor can keep Harry Cobden champion jockey bandwagon rolling

There’s a more competitive National Hunt racecard to enjoy on Tuesday, and this middle-distance handicap throws up a few decent betting options to consider from the nine-runner field.

15:30 Exeter: Join Racing Tv Handicap Hurdle (2 miles 5½ furlongs)

If we can safely exclude the two rank outsiders, then that leaves bottom-weight Hot Rod Lincoln as the most appealing each-way option on his return to hurdling after a three-month break.

Harry Fry’s six-year-old backed up a third-of-six finish at Sandown last February with a hard-earned maiden success at Fontwell three months later.

A six-month summer break was followed by two unsuccessful attempts over fences, but a combination of the larger obstacles and bottomless ground meant he failed to complete both times, so this return to hurdles off a tempting mark could see him outrun his price.

To make the frame, however, he will need to split the three fancied market leaders Paricolor, Feivel and High Game Royal all holding serious claims at around the 7/2 mark.

Arguments could be made for all three, but it is Paricolor who catches the eye the most after tumbling down the weights throughout last year, and appearing to find his level when third of 20 at Cheltenham’s November meeting before coming a close runner-up when last seen at Fontwell at Boxing Day.

He should now be fresh and raring to go after a three-month winter break, especially when combined with the significant booking of aspiring champion jockey Harry Cobden.

Planet Sport Bet’s racing ambassador did not have the best of times at last week's Cheltenham Festival, but he has wasted no time getting back into his stride, winning on his only ride at Chepstow on Sunday, and then landing a tasty double with his only two rides at Southwell on Monday.

This is the last of his three Tuesday rides at the Devon course, and the way he has been performing lately, we wouldn’t put it past him to complete a tasty treble on board David Pipe’s eight-year-old.

Suggested best bet: Paricolor in the 15:30 at Exeter
