Ballynagran was a winner for us over today's course and distance off a mark of 84 and arrives back here two runs later off just a two-pound higher mark.
The ground is soft once more, so with conditions and track suiting we can hopefully expect a decent run.
The current odds of 22/1 look way too big for his chances in this eight-runner handicap, and and even down to 16/1 I recommend a one-point each-way play.
Suggested bet: Ballynagran each-way in the 16:25 race at Wetherby
Larkfield Legacy has spent much of his career in Irish point-to-points and runs consistently well, winning one three-mile event and placing a further seven times from just 12 starts.
He is very lightly raced under rules and postmarked 88 and 92 in three-mile hunter chases, which suggests his current mark of 81 makes him competitive in what looks to be a mediocre Irish handicap.
In the saddle he has the services of the excellent JJ Slevin who was on him recently for his comeback under rules where he finished a respectable close up sixth.
That was over three miles and I do feel he lacks a gear at the end of his races, so this extended three-miles-one-and-half-furlong trip on soft/heavy ground will bring out his stamina and slow the others around sufficiently to give him a big chance to grind out a win.
The 33/1 makes him a decent each-way play, although 25/1 is more readily available and I recommend one point each-way at 16/1 or above.
Suggested bet: Larkfield Legacy each-way in the 19:10 race at Wexford
