Each-way tips from Saturday’s racing: Two to follow at Newmarket and Thirsk

One of Tipstrr's racing pundits has cast his expert eye over Saturday’s busy card to pick out a couple of each-way tips for us, one of them in the 2000 Guineas and one shortly afterwards at Thirsk.

16:40 Newmarket: Qipco 2000 Guineas Stakes
I've also tipped Little Big Bear for the 2000 Guineas, but have also been unable to resist the each-way value of Sakheer.

Like Little Big Bear, Roger Varian's charge was impressive last year as a two-year-old, winning back-to-back races at Haydock and Newbury in September after finishing a close-up second on his debut at Windsor.

All of those three outings were over six furlongs, so there is clearly a question mark over his ability to stay a mile, but he is looks to have been very well prepared for this event, and should be fresh and primed for his season debut.

Suggested bet: Sakheer each-way in the 16:40 at Newmarket
16:55 Thirsk: Vickers.bet Proudly Supporting British Racing Handicap
Tele Red caught the eye last year when he won two of his 10 outings and came runner-up in four, two of which were by half a length.
He began last season with a couple of less impressive runs, so we can perhaps forgive his season debut at Haydock last weekend, when he clearly needed the run and never featured.
He drops in class for this Thirsk outing, and equally significantly he drops from his usual 10 furlongs to this seven-furlong trip.
This might be a sign of this being lined up as another pipe-opener ahead of other challenges ahead, but in this less demanding company, his connections might just fancy him to spring a surprise here
If you can find a bookmaker offering an extra place, then Tele Red might be worth a small each-way punt at the current price.
Suggested bet: Tele Red each-way in the 16:55 at Thirsk
