Doncaster racing top tip: Romeo Brown poised to exploit trip and mark

Tipstrr Horse racing tipster Lucky Horse Tips is backing Romeo Brown to win the 14:35 at Doncaster on Wednesday afternoon.

14:35 SBK Handicap Hurdle

The 14:35 at Doncaster looks like the pick of the races at Doncaster as 10 runners go to post for the Group 3 race with going advertised as soft (good to soft in places).

Come On Teddy tops the market at the time of writing despite showing very little over the previous 12 months.

His performance at Cheltenham in 2021 and the subsequent third and first-place finishes the following season haven’t been matched. The Tom George horse was pulled up at last year’s festival and recently re-emerged after a 611-day break.

Blue Ridge Hill came second in all three bumper starts and showed a lot of promise at Sandown last time out despite finishing fifth of 12.

Ned Fox gets the ride on Wednesday and it’s notable he has a strong place record in handicap hurdles and has made a profit over the past five seasons.

Pounding Poet has been a consistent handicap hurdler in the past and comes here on the back of wind surgery which may be a help, but his season to date has been extremely poor.

Johnson’s Blue could also force his way into the frame as he continues to show good progression with Jamie Hamilton on board again.

He looked to be going well and poised to apply pressure to the leader at Kelso last time out before unseating the rider but produced a good win at Haydock in his last appearances over hurdles.

Distance winner Romeo Brown has produced six wins over hurdles in the past and has looked steady albeit not spectacular on his return since a 310-day break.

A pair of steady outings at Wetherby and on this course since his return will have helped but a pair of fifth-place finishes have seen him slip to a very handy mark.

Suggested bet: Romeo Brown to win the 14:35 at Doncaster
