Doncaster each-way racing tip: Castle Robin ready to hit the ground running for new connections

Doncaster racecourse
With 44 races on Saturday’s busy racecard, Steve Jones, who runs CD Systems on Tipstrr, has narrowed the 420+ runners down to his solitary Daily Bargain best bet in the last race at Doncaster.
15:15 Doncaster: Bet365 Handicap Chase (3 miles)
Charlie Longsdon has trained the eight-year-old Castle Robin for his entire career under Rules, during which time he has won 6 of his 17 runs over jumps, including 4/10 over fences.
Significantly, his career record when returning from a break is 123141 so he is clearly very effective when fresh and this looks the time to catch him, as he returns to action for a new top owner, over a c/d already proven to suit.
After coming third of 12 in a Grade 2 hurdle over three miles here on his first visit, he was back here again early last year for his first run over these fences, beating two useful rivals to win a handicap by 4.5l.
After a couple of attempts over unsuitably long 26-furlong trips, Castle Robin returns to his optimum distance with his winning rider Paul O’Brien back in the saddle, and he again looks ready to strike on his return to action.
He loves to race very prominently and if he gets into a good rhythm in the early stages, he could prove be very hard to pass down the long home straight on ground that looks set to suit him perfectly.
Suggested bet: Castle Robin in the 15:15 at Doncaster

Of the others, Sail Away should appreciate the drying ground, and his last win, on his penultimate run back in April, came over three miles at Ayr, where he beat ten Class 2 novice handicap rivals by a clear 11 lengths in impressive style.
He looks sure to come on again for his seasonal debut over an inadequate two and a half miles at Newbury two weeks ago, and he has won second-time back after a break the last twice, so he is a big player despite being eight pounds higher than at Ayr.
Next best bet: Sail Away in the 15:15 at Doncaster
