Doncaster each-way tip: Likleman looking to outrace hefty odds

Our friends at Tipstrr have been scouring their data to provide us with their most popular pick from the very last race on the Saturday evening card at Doncaster.

20:50 Doncaster:  Tips For Every Race at raceday-ready-com Handicap (1 mile)

If the bookies’ prices are a reliable measure then this one-mile handicap should be a four -horse affair between early market leaders Lady Of Time, Beach Point, Infinite Honour and Amerigo Vespucci, all of whom hold realistic claims but carry limited individual value at their respective short prices in a 17-runner handicap of this nature.

They certainly haven’t caused much of a buzz within the Tipstrr camp, where the five each-way places that are available with several bookmakers have sparked much more interest in runners deeper in the betting.

There has been a smattering of support for Serendipitous Lady, who broke her duck at the fifth attempt at Yarmouth last October, but who could strip fitter for her pipe-opener at the same venue 25 days ago, which was her yard debut for Dylan Cunha, who tried her in a first-time tongue-strap.

However, it is Likleman who has caught the collective each-way eye of Tipstrr’s pundits after showing progressive promise throughout his juvenile campaign and so far this term.

Suggested best bet: Likleman each-way in the 20:50 at Doncaster

Simon West's three-year-old gelding returned from a 10-week break in late January and seemed to enjoy the immediate benefits of winter wind surgery by landing a couple of back-to-back runner-up spots over Newcastle’s testing one-mile track.

He came a creditable sixth at Southwell last time out and after another 10-week lay-off, he should remain competitive in a race of this nature, with the three-pound claim of jockey Tyler Heard only helping his cause further.

Likleman would probably need all of the four market leaders to falter to land this, but with five places widely available, he looks as capable as any of the so-called outsiders of forcing his way into the each-way mix.
