Chepstow racing tips: Best bets for Sunday, March 17

Planet Sport tipsters have used their racing knowledge to pick out the most promising selections at Chepstow on Sunday, March 17.

13:15 (Chepstow) Coco Mademoiselle

COCO MADEMOISELLE (1) stopped quickly when pulled up at Ascot however holds strong claims otherwise having won a maiden hurdle at Lingfield by 11L in November and then finished second to a subsequent G2 winner. The one to beat.

ROCCOS INSPIRATION (2) has plenty to find with the main selection on official figures. Managed to win by 14L tackling heavy ground two starts ago so will relish conditions if they turn testing.

SPRING GALE (7) demonstrated improvement delivering her first run after wind surgery. Might have more to offer. LAUGHING LADY (4) is a newcomer to note.



13:50 (Chepstow) Iberio

Triple hurdle winner IBERIO (2) is beginning to get his act together with fences. Dropped 3.3lb from his opening chase mark and did well to manage third at Doncaster in latest. Key player if brushing up his jumping.

IMPERIAL ALEX (10) finished second on his past four starts. Competes from the same mark as when runner-up at Leicester last time. Every chance if jumping cleanly. 

AIRTOTHETHRONE (6) had wind surgery prior to finishing second at Taunton and could take another step forward. Course and distance winner ECEPARTI (4) disappointed recently. Rates a chance on early seasonal form.


14:25 (Chepstow) Haiti Couleurs

HAITI COULEURS (2) was well beaten in a Haydock G2 last start however previous maiden hurdle form reads well. Chance.

LAND GENIE (3) won a jumpers flat race at Huntingdon last April. Made the frame both hurdle starts to date and warrants respect.

BERTIE WOOSTER (1) is without a win after nine hurdle outings. Proved consistent among handicap company in recent months and can make his presence felt.

Point-to-point winner SIMPLE GETAWAY (7) was beaten a long way on hurdling debut. Took a step forward tackling 2m4f at Wincanton and might do better again tackling this extended trip.


15:00 (Chepstow) Endless Escape

ENDLESS ESCAPE (1) was seventh in the G2 mares novice at the Cheltenham Festival last season. Dropped significantly in the weights after a lay-off with fences and can return to winning ways.

TILLY TOUGHNUT (5) beat the top selection by 8L when in receipt of 1st5lb at Exeter attempting latest. Faces tougher terms this time though could have more to offer.

SEDGE WREN (2) looked full of promise winning twice last year. Watch the market returning from a break. FOLLOWANGO (6) is rerouted here after Ffos Las was abandoned and is another with plenty of potential.



15:35 (Chepstow) Thor De Cerisy

THOR DE CERISY (3) was a comfortable course and distance winner and looks firmly on an upward curve despite his advancing years defying a rise in weights.

HAPPY AND FINE (1) faced a tough task at Cheltenham last start. Won his previous two outings. Chance.

SO SAID I (5) ran clear when opening her fences account attempting a 2m4f mares handicap at Lingfield last month. Only 3.3lb higher this time and been rated higher when hurdling in the past. KNOWSLEY ROAD (2) may improve following wind surgery.


16:10 (Chepstow) Walkinthewoods

WALKINTHEWOODS (4) won hurdling at this track and finished second attempting course and distance just over three weeks ago. Competes from an unchanged mark. Maintains claims.

KING OF BRAZIL (5) was a possible non-stayer over 3m1/4f last time out. Managed to win at Huntingdon the time before. Serious player.

BALLYBEEN (2) is without a success after fifteen attempts under rules. Performed below expectations at Plumpton in latest but is considered based on peak form. VALIRANN GOLD (7) is yet to score from a mark this high. Secured victory at Fontwell two starts ago and enjoys this venue.


16:45 (Chepstow) Mulinas

MULINAS (2) was a noted purchase after winning a point-to-point and since joined the Paul Nicholls yard. Rates a potentially exciting recruit and is fancied to be debuting under rules with a win.

Fellow point-to-point winner OAK GROVE (3) shaped with some encouragement at Ascot on his jumpers flat race debut and is entitled to improve significantly. 

PEACENIK (4) demonstrated potential when second at Exeter delivering initial racecourse outing. Declared for Uttoxeter on Saturday but must be taken seriously if re-directed to this.

GASMANI (1) finished 13L behind the just mentioned at Exeter. Might take a step forward.
