Nine runners go to post for the 1930 at Chelmsford on Thursday evening, a six-furlong sprint on the artificial surface.

Bookies favourite Dicko The Legend is a course and distance who last won here November 4 before producing a poor follow-up performance weeks later.

That’s a fair reflection of what to expect from Roger Ingram’s unpredictable sort but he has produced a good showing in three of four outings.

He was denied a clear run to the line last time out and he’s just 1lb higher over the same distance, so he could justify his price.

Sassy Readhead is another course and distance winner who put forth a respectable performance last time out, but it’s worth noting she was behind Havechatma in that race.

He won that race by a couple of lengths and seems to have responded well to blinkers by winning back-to-back races.

She continues to defy the odds and on the evidence, there’s no reason she can’t beat Sassy Readhead again, while there’s no guarantee the best version of Dicko The Legend will turn up.
