17:00 (Chelmsford) Ludberg
Ludberg caught the eye when sixth over five furlongs at Wolverhampton on handicap debut.
Could improve now stepping back up to 6f off a 2lbs lower mark. At the expected prices consider.
Upper Hand made a pleasing start to racing in handicaps when runner-up over seven furlongs at Yarmouth and a bold bid anticipated.
Zachary finished fourth under a penalty at Newcastle in latest and cannot be ignored revisiting the venue that saw him win two starts ago.
First-time cheekpieces might bring out more from Ritzy.
18:00 (Chelmsford) Wonder Smile
Wonder Smile has progressed in two runs to date and can put the experience to good use in the EBF Novice Stakes.
Trained by Hugo Palmer, the son of Exceed And Excel made little impact on his initial run, with odds of 18/1 proving a fair reflection of his chance as he came home seventh at Redcar at the start of October.
Turned out again relatively quickly, Palmer moved his attention to the all-weather and, while Wonder Smile was not in the same league as six-length winner Whip Cracker at this venue, he was in turn upwards of four lengths better than the rest.
The artificial surface certainly appeared to suit and he may not need to find too much more to land this prize.
18:30 (Chelmsford) Maid For Harry
Maid For Harry has yet to start at a price shorter than 40/1, but she still merits a small interest in the Betsi Handicap.
Two runs in novice heats yielded little joy, although her recent second in a maiden over the same seven furlongs she faces here marked an improvement.
Given an initial rating of 60, Maid For Harry can make hay from the bottom of the handicap.
20:30 (Chelmsford) Bold Ribb
John Ryan does well with his new recruits and Bold Ribb shaped nicely in his first two outings for new connections before winning as he liked at Lingfield.
The 6lbs penalty won't be enough to stop him from scoring once more.
Moogie made it two from two tackling one and a quarter miles with a course and distance success four weeks ago. Rates the obvious threat.
Boasty brings three track and trip wins and cannot be ruled out after a break.
