Chelmsford evening racing tips: Best bets for Thursday, February 15

There's an extra day of romance in Essex as Chelmsford hosts it's Valentine's racing evening on Thursday, February 15, so the Planet Sport tipsters have some red-hot selections to catch the eye.

We start off with some details on our four selected horses at Chelmsford.

Don't forget to check out the full racecard, results and live odds in Planet Sport's racing live centre.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

(Please be aware selections could become non-runners after article's first publication)

17:30 (Chelmsford) Night On Earth

Jack Enright is making a name for himself in the apprentice division and can aid chances of Night On Earth who is back on the winning path.

The Ian Williams trained front-runner finished a solid second over five furlongs at Lingfield last week and may take some beating at a venue that suits those prominently positioned.

Moulin Booj finished fourth off this mark over five furlongs at Newcastle when last seen in October and could prove the main threat.

Nazca scored tackling 6f at the same course in a and cannot be discounted.

The Defiant also warrants consideration.

19:00 (Chelmsford) Shallow

Richard Spencer will have high hopes that Shallow can go one better than on her debut back in September when she heads to Chelmsford for the Racing Welfare Restricted Maiden Fillies’ Stakes.

The daughter of Rajasinghe saw off all bar the unbeaten Fair Angellica, despite having to race wide for much of the contest.

That was a really pleasing debut effort and given significant time to strengthen up, a big run is expected.

19:30 (Chelmsford) How Impressive

The Brandon Wilkie claim negates a 5.5lb penalty How Impressive received for winning over seven furlongs at Lingfield last week.

Dropping back to six furlongs will pose no problems and can complete a double despite being drawn widest of all.

Bang On The Bell brings placed form over 6f and cannot be ignored after a hard-fought success at Lingfield.

Maharajas Express was denied a nose tackling five furlongs at Wolverhampton. Needs respect turned out quickly off the same rating.

Masterclass continues to hold form well in this grade.

20:30 (Chelmsford) Curtiz

Curtiz goes well on the Polytrack and can cope with the 3.3lb rise in weights received for scoring over course and distance four weeks ago.

Narrow Wolverhampton runner-up At Liberty commands respect off the same mark.

Graffiti may give a good account following a solid second-placed finish tackling 1m1/2f at the same venue.

Four-time course winner Jenson Benson is tough to rule out at this favoured venue.
