14:05 (Catterick) Without Delay
Tracey Waggott’s horse box has not had to travel far to reach the North Yorkshire track and the application of cheekpieces could help her Without Delay go one better than his track-and-trip second last time.
The consistent operator was sent off favourite on that occasion and although having to settle for the silver medal, the front two pulled clear of the rest.
She has a higher mark to contend with here, but still rates as the one to catch in the Racing TV Club Day Handicap.
14:40 (Catterick) Della
Andrew Balding does not send many runners to Catterick but he looks to have found a good opening for Della in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Restricted Novice Stakes.
Balding, who has made a blistering start to September, has been patient with Della, a daughter of Australian sprinter Brazen Beau.
Unraced as a juvenile, she made an inauspicious beginning at Wolverhampton in March when last of eight.
She was only a 5/1 chance that day, though, so was clearly thought of in some terms and showed why next time out when second at Southwell.
Della wore a hood, although she was still fairly keen, however next time out she missed the break before running on into third.
Balding has given her over 100 days off to further strengthen and she looks the one to beat.
15:40 (Catterick) Jamil
With four wins from seven starts Jamil looks the most solid option with the eight-year-old course specialist finishing a decent third here attempting the journey in latest outing. Holds obvious claims off the same mark.
This Ones For Fred narrowly defeated Jamil over course and distance two outings ago and although worse off at the weights can remain competitive after a fair fourth at Bath.
Prince Achille would be of note on form shown when denied a head in a 1 and a half mile contest at Thirsk on his penultimate start.
16:50 (Catterick) Wreck It Ryley
Grant Tuer has his team in good form at present and Wreck It Ryley looks to tick plenty of boxes here.
The gelded son of Gutaifan followed up his Ayr success with a good third over 7f at Musselburgh last month and can return to the winners' enclosure with ground to suit.
Vortigan finished third behind Wreck It Ryley. at Ayr and should be involved with a swing in the weights.
Highfield Viking, who was third over 7f at Haydock a month ago could be thereabouts dropped 1lbs.
Catterick selections in full:
CATTERICK: 1.30 Gift Of Raaj, 2.05 Without Delay, 2.40 Della, 3.10 Langholm, 3.40 Jamil, 4.15 Castan, 4.50 Wreck It Ryley.
