Cartmel each-way tip: Victory March to steal a march on the field

There's plenty of high quality racing at Cartmel on Wednesday evening and Tipstrr's each-way aficionados are frothing at the mouth at the prospect of 14 coming to post in the evening's second contest.

18:20 Cartmel: Campbell & Rowley Selling Handicap Hurdle (2 miles 1 furlong)

A rare jumps meeting sees plenty of talent on show at the South Cumbria course and 14 come to post in the second race of the evening, which promises plenty of each-way value.

Callin Baton Rouge is the early favourite and comes into this one fresh, with her last outing coming in March.

Warren Greatrex's mare has had a couple of runner-up spots in recent months at Fontwell and Plumpton, but she is still yet to grab a maiden win.

With a big field, we think there's plenty of value for the each-way prospects and Ruler Of The River looks like a good shout.

Sam England's filly grabbed a win four starts ago at Kelso and also boasts frame finishes at Doncaster and Leicester within the last six months.

However, a collection of Tipstrr's each-way experts have opted for the aptly-named Victory March.

Rebecca Menzies' gelding has usually saved his best for the all-weather but he looks to transform that to hurdles on Wednesday evening.

His hurdles best was a third at Roscommon in 2021, however he recently transferred to Menzies' yard from Seb Spencer and there has been improvement since he made the move.

The first two outings were nothing to note of with bottom-two finishes, but his last outing at Perth saw him finish sixth out of 15 in a handicap hurdle so there were some signs of progress.

If he continues his upward trajectory then a frame-finish is not off the cards at Cartmel, with his odds of 10/1 having the potential to provide punters with a tidy profit.

Aaron Anderson is in the saddle and he netted a win at the course on Bank Holiday Monday aboard 16/1 shot Pateen so he has good form when it comes to winning with outsiders.

We think that Victory March will have a good run here and make a challenge in a wide-open handicap hurdle.

Suggested best bet: Victory March each-way in the 18:20 at Cartmel
