Bangor racing top tip: Duke Of Deception could exploit a drop in class

The 15:20 at Bangor is an extremely competitive-looking North Wales National Handicap Chase and we’ll be leaning on the Tipstrr consensus to find a winner.

15:20 Broughton Hall Estates North Wales National Handicap Chase

The 15:20 at Bangor is the most eye-catching race on the day as you can throw a blanket over the bookie's prices.

Except rank outsider Domaine De L’Isle who has been pulled up in all three starts this season, seven of nine runners are priced between 4/1 and 9/1.

Ali Star Bert also fell into that category after a promising revival and while he would have enjoyed this slog of a trip, he has been declared a non-runner.

That leaves Duke Of Deception and Stellar Stream as the marginal joint-favourites at the time of writing.

The latter has been lightly raced over fences but he is a hurdles winner and has shown plenty of promise of more to come in recent outings.

The former has won twice over fences at close to this distance and will be more than comfortable with the distance and conditions.

All three of his showings since an extended break have been positive, including the win at Wetherby, but one of the biggest factors could be the step-down in class.

Gold Emery, Notachance, Haute Estime, In Rem, Whydah Gally and Mario De Paul make up the rest of the field.

Alan King is in red-hot form and his entry Notachance is a course, distance winner.  The 10-year-old has three years on most of the spritely competition and hasn’t been vintage lately.

Despite that, his last outing was a promising one and his mark had already begun to drop significantly by the time he finished fourth on his last visit here and it continues to drop.

Gold Emery was a beaten favourite at Haydock last time out and it’s worth noting that he improved with every passing race last season.

Despite that, we’ll stick with the popular selection on the Tipstrr platform. Duke Of Deception looks in good condition and could well prove he’s a cut above today.

Suggested bet: Duke Of Deception to win the 15:20 at Bangor
