18:30 (Ayr) Rawaasi
Rawaasi found the frame in four of her five career starts to date. Odds-on favourite last time when unplaced at Bath and a return to this trip is a plus.
Mostar Dreams delivered a decent second on debut at Pontefract prior to placing ten-days ago at Thirsk, so should be thereabouts.
Melon Twist is closely related to six handy performers including the Group-placed Endless Joy and should be feared making racecourse debut.
19:30 (Ayr) Be Proud
Plenty of these hold chances, but two-time course winner Be Proud gets the nod after finishing sixth of fifteen in a higher grade on his Musselburgh reappearance last month.
Slainte Mhath boasts plenty of turf winning form including a course and distance success, so will be in the mix.
The Caltonian arrives three from nine when partnered with Jonny Peate. Could give another good account of himself.
Jordan Electrics brings two track and trip wins so cannot be ruled out.
20:00 (Ayr) Kelpie Grey
Kelpie Grey has been in sparkling form at Musselburgh in recent weeks and if he can transfer that to Ayr, he could take some beating in the Weddings At Western House Hotel Handicap.
A length-and-three-quarters winner over a mile on his seasonal bow in April, Kelpie Grey ably dealt with a 5lb rise to make all over seven furlongs at the start of this month.
He looked decent value for the winning margin of two and a quarter lengths, so the extra 6lb he carries now may not be enough to anchor him.
Kelpie Grey is trained by Jim Goldie who could also be on the scoresheet with Tafsir in the concluding Book Fitzdares Raceday On 22 May Handicap.
The five-year-old has been a regular visitor to Ayr of late, running with real consistency off her current rating, and it would be no surprise to see her find the target sooner rather than later.
21:00 (Ayr) Tafsir
Tafsir boasts three turf wins and placed in all three attempts over course and distance.
Did not see out the longer journey here twelve-days ago, when third of four, but can bounce back with a big run.
Billy Bathgate is without a win in twelve attempts since landing a similar handicap tackling track and trip last June.
This Evan Williams-trained gelding is attractively treated at the weights. Could prove hard beat if putting his best foot forward.
Ayr selections in full:
AYR: 6.30 Rawaasi, 7.00 Busby, 7.30 Be Proud, 8.00 Kelpie Grey, 8.30 Zebra Star, 9.00 Tafsir.
