Ayr each-way racing tip: Keeping the faith with We Still Believe

Ayr Racecourse
Fresh from landing a tasty 40/1 winner on Sunday, Tipstrr pundit The Profit Rocket is looking to kick the week off in similar style with his tip from this competitive eight-runner handicap hurdle.
15:20 Ayr: Coral Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle (2 miles)
Any horse looking to cause an upset will need to get his nose in front of the justifiable favourite Duyfken, who ended last season with a tidy win at Perth, and looked in the mood to rekindle that form when finishing third of 15 on season debut in heavy ground at Kelso six weeks ago.
Of his rivals, Serious Ego looks best equipped to give him a run for his money if the Nicky Richards-trained 10-year-old can overcome the seven-pound hike that his recent back-to-back wins at Hexham earned him for his troubles.
Planet Sport Bet: Bet £20+ cash on any runner in the race and if Duyfken wins by more than 6 lengths, get a £5 Free Bet
While it’s hard to see past those two main protagonists, as long as there are no withdrawals from the eight-strong field, then there could be some useful each-way value to found among those battling it out for the minor placings.
Follow Charlie looks an interesting prospect on his handicap debut after being far from disgraced when fourth of 10 at Hexham 19 days ago, but the most popular pick from within the Tipstrr camp is the optimistically named We Still Believe.
Daragh Bourke’s charge has yet to fire over hurdles, but has enjoyed a modestly successful year on the Flat, picking up a summer win on the turf at Ripon, while his last success on the all-weather came five outings ago at Newcastle in September.
His most recent appearance came last month at Market Rasen, where he tackled obstacles for the first time since July, and acquitted himself nicely before his challenge faded from a couple out.
Bourke’s selective approach with his relatively small string of horses means he hasn’t sent any to post since Barbados Buck’s landed a three-runner handicap at Carlisle eight days ago, so his only runner of the week might just be arriving from under the radar here.
We Still Believe needs to take a bit step forward here, but he can be expected to be better for that run, and the betting market appears to agree, as his overnight price, which was as high as 20/1 in places, has tightened up to single-digit odds at the time of writing.
