FRENCH RULER (6) was below his best last time out when 4.5 lengths from the winner in sixth over 7f at Newcastle. Settles back early but winds up late. Best form puts him right in this. MAGNATEAR (2) was prominent on straightening and stuck on well to finish third last start over 7f in the LR National Sprint at Canberra, beaten 0.7 lengths. Looks well placed so expect another forward display. SPANGLER (1) has been out of the winner's list for a long time, last start finishing tenth at Hawkesbury over 7f. Best figures measure up nicely. Can do a lot better. BROADWAY BOUNCER (4) finished third at Hawkesbury two runs back but didn't measure up last time over 7f at Kembla Grange, finishing 2.75 lengths back in sixth. Has his share of talent and can do a lot better.
