MAYEKI (9) produced a reasonable effort when fifth last start after being in the firing line on the turn over 1m2 1/2f at Echuca, beaten 1. 75 lengths. That followed a win at Stony Creek the start prior. Nicely placed to return to winning form. WET 'N' DRY (12) drifted well back and failed to finish it off last start when ninth, beaten 7 lengths, over 1m1 1/4f at Kyneton. Has the ability to take care of this field. CROWN OF RUSSIA (2) finished out of the money when fresh from a lay-off two starts back then was beaten 4. 5 lengths when fifth in a 1m1/2f contest at Sale two weeks ago. Ideally placed and is sure to take a ton of beating. HERE COMES RUBY (8) improved last time out, finishing 1. 3 lengths from the winner in third over 1m2 1/2f at Echuca. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run.
