Race Tip

RANTAN (2) was ridden quietly then picked up fairly well in the straight and finished 1. 4 lengths away in fourth last time out over 5f at this track two weeks ago as 11/4 favourite. Tackles a longer journey this time. Backmarker who keeps coming. Will prove hard to hold out. MAQUISA (11) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a strong race last time out, finishing second and beaten only a nose over 6¾f at Wyong. Nicely placed to give this a mighty shake. HELLABELLA (10) registered her first win last start over 6f at Rosehill, getting home by half a length. Tim Clark was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the ride. This is tougher but she is capable of another big run. HERE THE CROWD (7) is going well with two minor placings from three starts this prep. Continued the trend last time out when third over 7f at Pakenham. Has her share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race.
