MONARCHS BRAE (5) looks close to a win, the latest effort a strong second, beaten a neck, over 1m1 1/2f at Canterbury. Should be prominent from the outset. Best figures should see him run well. I AM THE EMPIRE (6) turned in a strong performance when resuming when in the money at Bendigo but disappointed last time when tenth, beaten 4.5 lengths, at Sandown-Hillside over 1m1f. It doesn't get any easier but on his best form he is good enough to take this out. GOLDEN PIERRO (13) went forward and proved too strong last time out, scoring by 1.1 lengths over 1m2f at Hawkesbury. Taking on a better line-up this time but he has the ability to mix it with them. TAJAWAL (4) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1m1 1/2f at Canterbury, beaten 2.5 lengths into fourth. Well placed and can figure in the finish this time.
