DUKE OF BEDFORD (2) finished second in a in a flat race at Echuca then was less effective last time, again on the flat, when fourth over 1m4f at Swan Hill, beaten one length. Honest jumper with six wins from 15 starts over the obstacles. Tough to beat on his return to jumping. HIT THE ROAD JACK (6) is a talented jumper who was unplaced on the flat two starts back. Improved last start when he got the money by 15 lengths in a hurdle (2m) at Terang. Must be a chance again. THE MIGHTY SPAR (3) recorded a solid second 18 days back (2m3 1/4f) at Terang. That result was on the back of another minor placing (2m1 1/4f) at this track the run before. Hard to leave out. RAISE THE NOTE (10) registered a sound second 18 days back (2m) at Terang. That result came as no surprise after a solid third in a hurdle (2m) at this track two starts ago. Leading contender again.
