RAGING MONKEY (17) was an impressive winner last time over 5f at Echuca, scoring by 4 lengths. Sam Kennedy in the saddle again and despite getting up in the weights he should go very well. CESAR BESSAN (14) has a moderate winning strike-rate but performed well last time at Echuca, finishing fourth and only 1.5 lengths from the winner at the end of 6f. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. DERELICT (2) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a lay-off on 10/09/2024, finishing fifth and beaten 5 lengths over 5½f at Tatura. Now under the care of new trainer Carly Thomas. Definite top-three chance. STIRRUP (16) showed good early speed and raced on the pace when when resuming after a lay-off last start before fading to finish fourth, beaten 4 lengths, over 5f at Ballarat Synthetic. Can figure in the finish.
