XSPIRITOUS (7) is close to breaking through, last start finishing just half a length away in second over 4½f at Goulburn after being in contention all the way. Drawn to enjoy a good run on the speed. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. CASSIMIR (8) finished tenth two runs back at Albury then improved last time out to score by 1.1 lengths over 5¼f at Leeton. Meets some better types this time but this looks well within his grasp. HURRICANE THUNDER (4) finished ninth over 6f at Newcastle at his most recent appearance on December 1. Yet to win when resuming but generally runs well with two minor placings from four tries. Can make his presence felt.
