VIA VARALLO (6) was beaten just a nose last start and landed his first top-three finish in the process at Goulburn over 7½f. Has taken a while to hit form but can open his account this time. DARN HOT MISS (11) was never in contention last time over 7f58yards at Kyneton when she finished fourth, beaten 3.5 lengths. Likely to be in the finish in this suitable assignment. DEFYING (2) turned in an eye-catching run over 7f at Tumut last time, ridden back before coming home with a powerful run to finish third. Tough to stop again. PIMPERNEL (4) missed the placings two runs back then did well last start but found one better over 7f at Tumut, beaten only half a length. Finds a suitable race and can find the winner's circle.
