CHAMPION WARRIOR (11) is closing in on a win after two consecutive placings, the latest a second over 1m at this track. Should be prominent from the outset. Will prove tough to beat. Multiple Group 2 winner MARDI GRAS (10) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 1m at Vaal, beaten only 1.3 lengths. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is capable of a big performance. KYOMAI (4) is back from a break of five months. Raced below par at his only appearance last prep when tenth over 7f at Turffontein Standside. Likely to push forward and race on the pace. Will be in this for a long way. TIZONA (9) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1m at Turffontein Standside, beaten 6 lengths into fourth. Well placed to bounce back.
