GENERAL THAYER (5) improved last time out, finishing 2. 5 lengths from the winner in second at the end of 5f at Zia Park. Finds a suitable race and can take the next step and salute. COLONEL PUNCH (6) proved too strong two runs ago at Arapahoe Park. Couldn't follow that up last time out when second over 4½f at this track, beaten 6 lengths after being in the firing line on the bend. Has started two times at this course and distance and is yet to miss the placings. Perfectly placed and is sure to play a pivotal role. DOMINATE (1) got a long way back when 14 lengths from the winner in sixth over 6f at this track last start, a less impressive effort than his fourth at Grants Pass the run before. Has the talent to take care of this field. KHAIKY'S COMMAND (3) lines up for the first time since July 25. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 5½f at Emerald Downs. Makes plenty of appeal.
