NAVY STEEL (6) showed good early pace over 7f21yards at Dubbo last time and kept going to score by 0. 6 lengths. Looks well placed so expect another big run. TACT (8) stepped up in trip to 1m last time at Newcastle and ran below his best, finishing 4. 5 lengths away in seventh. Better suited at this shorter trip so he is right in this. SUBSTANTIAL (2) has been well held at his last couple, the latest in city grade when tenth at Randwick. Better placed and can bounce back to form. Best efforts measure up so worth another chance.
