VANCOUVER BAY (7) was well fancied when resuming last start and proved too strong, scoring by a long neck over 6¼f at Cairns. Open to plenty of improvement and will be a tough nut to crack again. TALONS (5) turned in a fine effort to win by 0.9 lengths at this course and distance last start in a nice progression on the when resuming performance. Taking on a better line-up this time but he is up to the challenge. ROCK IN THE PARK (3) was beaten just a long neck last start when second in a small field over 6¼f at Cairns at the first run of the campaign on soft going. Will be fitter for that run, among the chances again. STRATHCONA (8) came home strongly last start to finish second, beaten 0.9 lengths, over 7f at this track. Top-three prospects.
