THE DEPUTY (4) did a great job to score by 1. 75 lengths over this course and distance last start to maintain his good form of late. Likely to be there at the finish again. BLANTONS RUN (8) finished fourth two runs back then did well last start but found one better over 6¾f at Doomben, beaten only a long neck after being in the firing line on the corner. This doesn't look as hard so she is sure to be right there at the finish. DOWNEY (5) settled well back last time out before finishing sixth over 6f at Sunshine Coast. Good record at this journey with three wins and three minor placings from eight starts and has to be respected. WOWIT'S WILLYWONKA (11) produced another moderate effort last start when 12 lengths from the winner in 11th over 1m1 1/2f at this track. Finds a nice race and can bounce back.
