KAREEM (2) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start when he settled well back over 5½f at Rockhampton, beaten 6 lengths into seventh. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. TOKYO BANDIT (7) finished 10 lengths back in 12th over 1m at Doomben last time out after a gutsy win the start prior. Backmarker who keeps coming. Will prove hard to hold out. THE DEPUTY (1) found the line nicely last start to get up for second over 6½f at this track. Sound record at this distance with five wins and nine minor placings from 20 runs and is one of the prime contenders. CHINCHILLA AHEAD (3) finished fourth over 5f at this track when resuming last start after strong market support, beaten only 2 lengths after being prominent at the bend. Fitter this time will prove harder to beat.
