BORRELLI (2) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 3.5 lengths when fourth in a 4½f contest at Springsure five-and-a-half weeks ago. Taking on a better field but he is up to the task. SPITZBERG (7) produced a reasonable effort when second last start after being prominent at the bend over 7f at Sunshine Coast, beaten a head. That followed a win at Gladstone the start prior. Finds a suitable race and can get the job done. QUARTER RED (5) has been in good form, scoring three back at Wandoan then placing twice in a row, most recently finishing third when he was in the firing line all the way over 5f at Dalby. Will enjoy the drop in grade so he is all set to build on that latest effort. BETTER ACRES (9) produced another moderate effort last start when 6 lengths from the winner in tenth over 6f at Rockhampton. Suitably placed so can turn things around.
