BOLD JULIUS (4) returns from a break of four months. Genuine performer last prep whose most recent appearance resulted in a win over 6f at Ipswich. Ideally placed to score while fresh. JACKA STANDS ALONE (3) was an impressive winner last time over 5½f at Toowoomba, leading throughout and putting 2. 5 lengths on his rivals. Les Tilley who has three wins when partnering stays on. Best form puts him right in this. SHOW ME MERCY (2) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start when he did his best work late but found a couple better over 5¼f at Rockhampton, beaten only 1. 1 lengths. Taking on a better line-up this time but he cannot be underestimated. BEWS (1) has been out of the winner's list for a long time, last start finishing eighth at this track over 6f after he was well back on straightening. Well placed and can play a prominent role.
