SKUA (13) showed ability at his only start back on March 6 when second over 6½f at Newcastle. In the placings in a recent Donald trial. Jumps from a wide alley but should prove tough to beat again. SOULSEASE RIVER (14) could only manage seventh on debut then improved last start but found a couple better over 7f27yards at this track, beaten 2. 5 lengths. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. CRUSADING KNIGHT (12) is a gelding by Russian Camelot out of Persistent Desire who is at the races for the first time. In the placings at most recent Werribee trial. Should run well. NIGHT GUARD (15) was prominent at the turn and finished third last start over 6½f at Cranbourne, beaten 4 lengths. Placed to advantage and can feature in the finish.
