Race Tip

CHERGUI (1) is resuming from a lay-off of six-and-a-half months and having his first run for the Ben, Will & Jd Hayes yard. Was in the placings when when resuming from a lay-off last campaign at Randwick over 5f. Ran fourth in a trial at Flemington over 4f recently. Sure to take some beating. ANGEL IN BLACK (9) is a first starter by Shamus Award who was purchased for AUD $ 120,000 (Inglis 2024 Premier Yearling Sale). Craig Williams takes the ride after the pair partnered successfully in a recent trial. Looks set to run well. LUDLUM (5) came home strongly last start to finish second, beaten a neck, over 5f at Ballarat on debut. Among the main chances. CAFFETTIERA (11) wasn't far away on debut last start over 5f152yards at Geelong, finishing third and beaten 1. 3 lengths. Has ability and worth including.
