PHOENICIAN (3) progressed nicely last time out when he did his best work late to finish just a nose from the winner in second over 1m3f at Pakenham Synthetic. Nicely placed to take this out. SNORE (6) turned in a decent effort last start to finish second over 1m3f at Bendigo after being in contention on the turn. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. COWARRIE (2) finished third last start over 1m2 1/2f at Benalla when he worked home well, beaten 2.5 lengths. Meeting a deeper field this time but he is good enough to play a major role. PIRRIP (4) finished third last time over 1m2 1/4f at Moe, beaten 6 lengths. Will trim down following recent racing. Capable of another strong performance.
