QUICK ONYX (9) finished second at this track two runs back but was less effective last time over 5½f at Dubbo, finishing 5. 5 lengths back in ninth. Worth noting Clayton Gallagher goes aboard. Perfectly placed and is sure to take plenty of stopping. KANTISHNA (3) has been in the placings her past two starts, finishing second over 4½f at Muswellbrook last time out. Should be poised just off the lead. Among the leading chances. DESIROUS (7) is yet to fill a placing in two runs since resuming from a lay-off, the latest when seventh over 4½f at Newcastle after she was prominent at the turn. Has never been out of the placings at the third run in and can find peak form this time. NAVY STEEL (1) returns from a layoff of five months. Scored over 5f at Wellington at the start of last prep. Now under the care of new trainer Brett & Georgie Cavanough. Worth plenty of thought.
