OAKFIELD NEPTUNE (2) produced a reasonable effort after being in the firing line on the bend to finish 1.75 lengths away in third last start over 6f at Newcastle. That followed a win on debut at Newcastle. Perfectly placed and is sure to take plenty of stopping. CRESTA RUN (7) has been kept fresh since filling a minor placing at this track over 6½f five-and-a-half weeks ago. Looks to be ticking over nicely judging by a recent trial win at Scone. Rates well and looks a definite each-way chance. TELLING (5) was prominent at the corner and did his best work late and finished third last time over 5f at Kembla Grange when resuming from a lay-off, beaten 2.25 lengths. This is the right race and can get the job done. OAKFIELD PLUTO (4) finished second last time over 6f at Port Macquarie, beaten a long neck. Will trim down following recent racing. Must be respected.
