THE PICCOLINO (9) finished ninth two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 5¾f at Beaumont (Newcastle), beaten only 1.75 lengths after being prominent at the corner. Nicely placed to give this a mighty shake. RODEO DEALER (1) failed to make an impression last time out, settling well back and finishing fifth over 6¼f at Newcastle. Will appreciate the drop in grade. Has claims on his best form. SCARLET MONARCH (8) finished fifth over 5f at Tuncurry when resuming last start, beaten only 1.75 lengths after being in the firing line on the corner. Likely improver with top-three prospects.
