RUSSIAN METEOR (5) was always well out of his ground when 5 lengths from the winner in tenth over 7f at Flemington last start, a less impressive effort than his fourth at Cranbourne the run before. Worth noting Jamie Mott goes aboard. Faces an easier assignment so he is a major player. BELTHIL (2) started at 11/2 last time and ran below expectations, finishing fifth and beaten 4 lengths at Warrnambool over 7f. It doesn't get any easier but on his best form he is good enough to take this out. ATTAIN (10) was below his best last time when sixth over 6f at Flemington, beaten 3.5 lengths. Suitably placed so anticipating a big run this time. EUGENIUS (3) finished fourth last start over 7f at this track after racing on the pace for much of the way. Solid top-three prospects.
