MODOWN (18) turned in a strong run last time at the first run of the prep when he settled well back before running on hard to be beaten only half a length into third over 6f at Sale. Record at this journey is impressive with two wins and two placings from five runs and is a leading contender. EL ROCKO (11) finished fifth last time out over 7f at Flemington, beaten 4 lengths. Generally goes well here with a win and two minor placings from seven tries. This looks an ideal assignment. Multiple Group 2 placegetter CONQUEROR (12) ran below his best last start when beaten 1.75 lengths into fifth from a wide draw over this course and distance. Backmarker who keeps coming. Should be competitive. PROWLING (13) missed the placings two runs back then did well last start but found a couple better over 7f at this track, beaten only half a length. Placed to advantage so anticipating another big run.
