NATION STATE (5) was well held over 7f in the LR H C Nitschke Stakes at Morphettville Parks last time out. Should settle just off the speed despite the draw. Leading contender. SPEEDTAIL (7) was never in contention when 11 lengths from the winner in seventh over 7f at Pakenham last start, a less impressive effort than his fifth at Sandown-Lakeside the run before. Finds a tougher race but he has the ability to test this field. VOMO ISLAND (14) returns after a lay-off of four months. Looking to emulate his win at Wyong to kick off the last campaign. Looks a strong top-three prospect.
