VARANE (1) raced in town last time and missed the frame, finishing fourth at Sandown-Lakeside and beaten 4 lengths. Strong record with Billy Egan aboard, including two wins. Should be hard to stop. PARDON MY FRENCH (5) just missed last time out when third over 6f at Sandown-Lakeside after she was handy all the way. Won at her only try over this journey. Can win this without surprising. GRAND SAGE (3) finished out of the money two starts back then he was always well out of his ground and was beaten 5.5 lengths when sixth over 7f138yards at this track a week-and-a-half ago. Finds a nice race and can feature in the finish. MARBASTION (9) broke his maiden last start over 7f27yards at Geelong when resuming, scoring by 0.8 lengths. Re-unites with Koby Jennings who was on board last start. Harder this time but still one to consider.
