That followed a when resuming win at Sandown-Lakeside. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time. MORNINGTON PIER (6) turned in an eye-catching run last time out over 1m at Cranbourne, charging home from well back to finish half a length away in second. Should be at his peak so he is a leading contender again. NEARING LIBERTY (3) scored last start at this track to make it two wins from two starts this campaign. Has claims based on that latest effort. GERALDINE'S JEWEL (8) hit the frame two starts ago at Benalla but ran below par last time when ninth and beaten 7 lengths over 7¾f at Morphettville Parks. Has her share of talent and can do a lot better.
