Goes up a notch this time but should measure up. MAKARENA (1) turned in a fair effort in the Golden Eagle at this track over 7½f at her last run four months ago, finishing fourth and beaten 1.3 lengths. Comes here with definite claims. FIRESTORM (4) is when resuming since November 9. Has a great record when fresh with three successes from four runs including a win over 7½f at this track at the start of last prep. Ran fourth in a trial at Rosehill over 4½f recently. Winning chance while fresh. OUR GOLD HOPE (6) finished 3 lengths behind the winner in eighth place when resuming over 6f last start in the G3 Southern Cross Stakes at this track. Can improve sharply here.
