EPIC PROPORTIONS (1) turned in a nice run when fresh from a lay-off two starts back at Hawkesbury then missed the placings last time when 2.25 lengths from the winner in fifth over 5f at Randwick. Well placed to make amends. POWER OF THE BRAVE (2) strode forward early from his wide draw over 5½f at Rosehill last time, leading for much of the way before fading to finish fourth. Will take catching again. FORMAL (3) made it back-to-back wins when successful last start over 5f at Gosford, getting home by a neck. Winning rider Benjamin Osmond retains the mount. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he has the ability to mix it with them. AXIUS (8) closed last prep ten months ago when he finished ninth over 6½f at Rosehill. Is lightly raced and looks forward enough after a solid recent trial. Winning claims on best figures.
