CONTRIVED (1) drifted well back and failed to finish it off last start when 11th, beaten 8 lengths, over 6f at Inverell. Meets some better types this time but this looks well within his grasp. BYLONG (6) was safely held when seventh last start over 5f at Dubbo, beaten 5.5 lengths. That followed a good win on debut at Wellington. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot make amends. ROMANTIC LOVE (2) finished just a nose from the winner in second last start over 5½f at Narromine after racing on the speed. Nicely placed to give this a mighty shake. CALGA POWER (3) was far from disgraced when third last start over 5½f at this track. That followed a win at Tamworth the start prior. Worth another chance.
