ZALE (6) was in the money two starts back at Cowra but couldn't back it up last time when sixth, beaten 2.5 lengths, at Canberra over 6½f after being prominent at the bend. Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is right in contention. RUFF (7) returns from a layoff of five months. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last time in work over 7f at Gundagai. Lines up. For the first time for trainer pat murphy. Looks a strong top-three prospect. WONDER BRAHMA (8) hit the frame two starts ago at Wellington but ran below par last time when sixth and beaten 3.5 lengths over 1m at Dubbo. Likely improver with top-three prospects.
